Empowering Women in Cybersecurity” project

The CAIR Lab at Aswan University proudly supervises and supports the implementation of the “Empowering Women in Cybersecurity” project, which is a groundbreaking project aimed at increasing women’s engagement and expertise in the field of cybersecurity. Funded by the British Council and supported by Aswan University and Glasgow Caledonian University. The scientific supervision and technical mentorship is done as a partnership between Glasgow Caledonian University and Aswan University (represented by CAIR Lab). The lab contributes to skills development and research engagement in the field of cybersecurity. The project aligns with Egypt’s national vision for empowering women in technology and innovation, promoting greater inclusion, leadership, and professional advancement of women in digital and cybersecurity domains. This achievement reflects CAIR’s commitment to societal impact, gender equity, and excellence in applied research and technological development.

The Computing and Artificial Intelligence Research Lab (CAIR) at the Faculty of Engineering, Aswan University, achieved a remarkable milestone by securing 1st place (team category) among Upper Egypt universities in the Third Edition of the Arab Artificial Intelligence Olympiad.
The achievement was accomplished by a distinguished team of students led by Noha Nour El-Din, under the supervision ofDr. Ghada Abozaid,and Dr. Samia Heshmat, demonstrating outstanding performance across multiple tracks including cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, computer vision, embedded systems, and programming.
This success reflects CAIR Lab’s commitment to developing young talents, fostering innovation, and advancing excellence in cutting-edge technology fields, reinforcing Aswan University’s position as a leading academic and research institution.
